Fiber Optic Cabinets, Cables, Pedestals and Terminals

The path to success means being able to look at what the future brings and plan for it.  Part of the Clearfield Advantage is building and acquiring the necessary resources we need to make sure we deliver the products you need when you need them without unexpected or unnecessary delays.  Supply chain issues are top of mind for everyone today while the boom in fiber from the influx of federal, state, and private funding in the years to come is something we have anticipated and are preparing for by executing on our multi-year plan to support fiber deployments over the next decade.

Last year, we announced our plan to expand our facilities in Mexico while earlier this year we completed a 100K square foot expansion in warehouse and logistics space in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota down the road from our headquarters.  Our May acquisition of Nestor Cables, a leading European developer and manufacturer of fiber optic cable solutions, is Clearfield’s latest strategic move to make sure our customers will continue to get the quality products they need when they need them.

Since 2012, Nestor has supplied fiber optic cables for Clearfield’s FieldShield product line, so we’ve had a chance to see them in action over a decade. Nestor’s focus on providing its customers with reliable and flexible deliveries, quick response, and operational efficiency fits in with Clearfield’s company culture. Its employees have deep expertise in fiber optical development and manufacturing, many building on their skills with the production of optical cable by Nokia.

Acquiring Nestor enables Clearfield to vertically integrate the supply of its fiber optic cables to meet future customer demand. We will also be able to leverage the decades of optical experience Nestor has to expend the available fiber into North America. Clearfield expects to open up optical fiber cable production in its Mexico facility and begin production of optical cable in North American early in 2023.

Like the Fleetwood Mac song, Clearfield doesn’t stop thinking about tomorrow, because we know it’ll soon be here and better than before. Planning for growth in the fiber market and executing our multi-year to support fiber over the next decade is how we’re making sure tomorrow will be better than before and with the tools you need to install fiber faster than ever.
