Fiber Optic Cabinets, Cables, Pedestals and Terminals

By Jim Pilgrim

I lost a friend last week. His name is Bruce and we worked together over the past few years at Clearfield. Although I’m rarely in the office with my fierce travel schedule, when I was, there were very few days we didn’t have a chance to take the time to talk for a while.

Bruce was in finance and I am in engineering. We would be talking about golf, cars, or the fun of paying for our kids’ college education. When the boss would walk by Bruce would start to throw in some technical terms like PON, splitter, or pedestal to make it sound like we were talking about business. That memory will always make me smile.

I am thankful we got to play some eight-ball at our last Christmas party. We got to relive our younger days as pool sharks over a few drinks and good conversation.

Last Friday you reminded us all how sudden life can change. I went home that evening and told both my daughters how proud of them I am and that I love them.

Each day we have is a gift, that’s why we call it the present.

I miss you my friend.
