Extension Reinforces Clearfield’s Dedication to a Fiber Management Solutions

Minneapolis (May 17, 2011) — Clearfield, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLFD), the specialist in fiber connectivity and management solutions for Fiber to the Premise (FTTp) deployments, is extending the CraftSmart product line to now include CraftSmart Fiber Protection Boxes (FPB). The CraftSmart FPB joins the newly introduced CraftSmart Fiber Protection Pedestals and Vaults, a full line of above- and below-grade field enclosures that provide full optimization of fiber deployment when used alongside Clearfield’s FieldSmart platform of inside plant fiber panels, outside plant cabinets and wall boxes.

Similar to the CraftSmart Vaults and pedestals, the boxes are designed to meet a broad range of fiber, coax, and copper needs of the broadband, telecommunications and utilities industries. The FPBs provide a place for below-grade cable slack storage and are a good fit for access in greenbelt areas, areas that are undeveloped, wild or agricultural, and similar applications where there is light pedestrian traffic, such as a sidewalk.

“Clearfield is dedicating engineering resources to every detail of the fiber installation requirements, and this product line extension cements Clearfield’s dedication to delivering a comprehensive solution to the market,” said Johnny Hill, chief operating officer for Clearfield.
