Minneapolis (July 20, 2011) — Broadband service providers looking to deploy fiber to their communities can benefit from the experience of industry experts when Cincinnati Bell (CBT) and Clearfield, Inc. team up to host a Fiber to the Premise (FTTp) Field trip at OSP EXPO, September 12, 2011 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Participants will hear from CBT and its fiber management and protection partner,Clearfield, on the lessons these industry leaders have learned working together. Additionally, attendees will witness the network in action at locations where fiber has been installed at both multiple dwelling units (MDU) and single family units (SFU) build locations.

CBT, which has standardized onClearfield’s FieldSmart fiber management architecture in its Fioptics fiber-optic cable system deployment, has passed 80,000 premises throughoutCincinnatito date. CBT is recording a 40 percent take rate, which is considered impressive by industry standards. With this success, CBT is in the process of passing 70,000 additional homes.
