Fiber Optic Cabinets, Cables, Pedestals and Terminals

Do you ever get that strange feeling that you’re being watched? I do.

The good news is that my observer turns out to be Global Telecom Business, a website and magazine for the senior managers who run telecoms carriers worldwide. I was honored to be numbered among the magazine’s “50 Women to Watch.”

I realize that this runs the risk of sounding like a humble-brag, but I am very proud of Clearfield and the entire team involved in our success. As CEO, I just happen to get more of the attention.

Here’s what they wrote: “Beranek has been president and CEO at Clearfield since 2007. The provider of optical fibre management and connectivity has, through her collaborative style of leadership, seen continued fiscal growth, recording eight consecutive years of profitability and posting gains in both the market capitalisation and shareholder equity.”

I’m honored to be included in a list that is also watching Oracle Co-CEO Safra Catz; Nokia’s Chief Strategy Officer Kathrin Buvac; Federal Communications Commission Commissioner Mignon Clyburn; and Verizon SVP/CIO Radhika Venkatraman, just to name a few.

While I look forward to the day when we don’t have to make the distinction between the best female and male leaders (good leadership is good leadership -- irrespective of gender), I am thrilled to be considered part of this esteemed group.
